My moment of “I told you so”

Just before the world cup, I posted on Facebook that Yusuf Pathan is in such an explosive form that he will prove to be a dud in the world cup and so far his performance is nothing better than a dud. The same can be said about Virat.

This is a rule of nature and apart from Donald Bradman, no one has been able to defy that. He is the only one with an average of 99. The difference in his average and the one after him is 38.

Bottom line is you play good sometimes and bad at other times. So what do you as a selector?

1. Select player that are in good form for some time and hope the good form will continue for the important event as well
2. Select good players currently in poor form and hope they will get in good form in the tournament.
